WORD MASHUP

"Power is frequently defined by political scientists as the ability to influence the behavior of others with or without resistance"

POWER

Power is often a source of violence and corruption. It is driven by self-interests which dis-regard consequences and only focus on personal gain.  The desire for power breaks down the boundaries set by rules and order, causes strife and competition, and governs the actions success of companies Facebook and Coca Cola. Once achieved, power has the ability to either improve or corrupt its holder.

ONCE POWER IS GAINED, FACEBOOK MANIPULATES THEIR OWN MORALS FOR PERSONAL GAIN. THIS IS EVIDENT WHEN PRIVACY LAWS ARE DISREGARDED.

“A security breach at Facebook, either from an outsider locating vulnerability or from a disgruntled insider, would potentially put all 8,000,000 Facebook records at risk. This is not a risk that can be eliminated; no site is perfectly secure. The fear of a security breach is certainly a reasonable one, as large data warehouses are often targets of intruders.  Coca Cola, its subsidiaries and products have been subject to sustained criticism by both consumer groups and watchdogs, particularly since the early 2000s. criticism has been based around; possible health effects of Coca-Cola products, questionable labour practices. For example, ChoicePoint's databases were breached and 145,000 records were compromised. While a Facebook breach would not be sufficient to start performing identity theft, a trove of so much personal information would contain much information that people would not want to make public” The  Perception of the company as behaving unethically has led to the formation of pressure groups such as "Killer Coke", boycotts of Coca-Cola and related products and lawsuits”

THERE IS DEFINITELY A COMMON THEME OF MANIPULATION OF THE POWER, AS BOTH COMPANIES HAVE INCREDIBLY LARGE RESPONSIBILITIES, YET STILL ONLY FOCUS ON SELF GAIN AND THEIR OWN AGENDAS. THEREFORE, THE SIMILAR IDEA OF POWER IS HOW BOTH COMPANIES ADAPT TO CONSUMER CHANGE TO GAIN MORE AUTHORITY.
